Nordseter offers great fishing opportunities, with many easily accessible fishing spots. There are good parking facilities, and some fishing lakes are adapted for wheelchair users. The area has varied terrain with forests, marshes, lakes and mountains, and is perfect for both beginners and experienced fishermen. Trout can be found in almost all lakes, and in some lakes you can also fish for whitefish, perch and pike.

Fishing rules
Season: Fishing with a rod is allowed in all lakes and rivers from 1 January to 31 December.
Protected zones: Fishing is not allowed in some areas, such as Nord-Mesna from the regulating dam to Danielsflø, and at the fish ladders at the outlet of Reinsvatn and Melsjøen.
Special rules: Belly boat is allowed as a trial project in Abbortjern. Ice fishing and perch fishing with traps are allowed in some waters.
Children under the age of 16 fish for free, in accordance with Section 18 of the Act relating to Salmonids and Inland Fish, etc.

Recommended bait and lures: spinners, lures, worms and flies.
Effective brands include Panther Martin and Sølvkroken Special.
Flies such as Europea 12an, Streaking Caddis, Olsen and March Brown have also proven to be safe choices.
